I Got Yoshi's Woolly World! (#39)

So, like I said I would in my last couple of posts, I got Yoshi's Woolly World for Wii U today. I've started playing it and and at the moment I'm on the second level. It's so flipping adorable so far. I just want to hug like everything in the game! It feels so playful and cute and it's just one of those games that you play when you want to have fun, just like Mario but I'm enjoying it even more, mostly because it's new so I haven't played these levels yet.

The way Yoshi moves just feels so fun; the yarn vibe makes the game feel quite free and entertaining just like in Kirby's Epic Yarn (which this game is based off). Plus, I just got to turn into an umbrella and fly around! It was so great, just like the transformations in Epic Yarn (such as surfer, fire engine, rocket and more) which also made the game unique.

Anyway, I'm off to play some more; I can't really resist continuing this level. Later!

Ideas For My Fiftieth Post (#38)

Wow, I'm already on my thirty-eighth post on this blog and I haven't even been doing this for a month yet! Nice segue into the topic of this post, no...?

Anyway, I've been thinking about something. Basically, I wrote a list on my phone a couple days ago of all the video games I own. This includes all the games I own for DS, 3DS, Wii U, Wii, and even PS2. As my fiftieth post is coming soon, and since fifty is a very nice number for anniversaries and celebration, I want to do something special for it. So, why not publish the list of all the video games I own? It'll be a cool post for me to look back at in the future, plus it'll give any readers an idea of the type of video games I play, as well as if I own a certain game that somebody is thinking about. The list is growing all the time too, so I'll probably have even more additions to the list by the time my 50th post comes around. After all, I'm getting Yoshi's Woolly World tomorrow and I've ordered Apollo Justcie: Ace Attorney on Amazon.

By the way, the list includes any games that I have on multiple platforms. What I'm saying is, for example, I own the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy on my 3DS, which contains the first three PW:AA games. I also own the first PW:AA game on my Wii, and on the list I'll include both versions.

I just wanted to share my thoughts and ideas about this. I'd like to do something special like this for special posts like my 50th, 100th, 150th, etc. My 150th post is quite a long time away though...

Ant-Man To Have Two Credits Scenes (#37)

Hi, it's been revealed to us that Ant-Man will have two credits scenes. I believe that this is the only Marvel Cinematic Universe movie so far to have two credits scenes, apart from the Avengers, which had a mid-credits scene showing Thanos and a post-credits scene with the Avengers jokingly eating shawarma. Ant-Man probably won't be as a big of a film as the Avengers (it still looks like it will be an amazing film though) so it will be interesting to see two credits scenes. Like the Avengers, one will be a mid-credits scene and one will be a post-credits scene. I'm really getting excited for this film now; less than a month until the July 17th release date!

Watching Sword Art Online (#36)

I've started watching Sword Art Online on Netflix. It's a cool anime about a gamer called Kirito who ends up getting stuck in the world of Sword Art Online, a popular recently released video game that traps players in the game world. The designer of the game has made it so that if you die in the game, you die in real life. See, the show is set in the year 2022 (the beginning of the show is at least, but lots of months pass between each episode) and Virtual Reality is possible. The player wears a Virtual Reality helmet that fries their brain if they die in the game, and players must clear all one hundred floors to return to the real world.

So far I've watched 5 episodes, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. If you're a fan of modern anime and video games, especially MMOs, you'll probably like this anime.

Yoshi's Woolly World Releases Today! (#35)

Hey, so the new Yoshi game, Yoshi's Woolly World, releases today (at least here in the UK where I live) for Wii U. I can't believe that America won't be getting the game until October 16! I mean, I know that the UK gets some games before the US sometimes, but we're getting it four months earlier! That's crazy. Plus, even Japan won't be getting the game until July 16. Sure, that's only a month after us and not that long compared to four months, but considering that Japan almost always get games before us...

Anyway, I was planning on getting the game today, but... guess what? I. COMPLETELY. FORGOT. Yet another instance of my bad memory. I mean, this proves I don't intentionally forget things like updating my blog... after all, this is an awesome new Yoshi game! I'm disappointed that I forgot about getting it today, but I should be getting it on Monday, so that'll be a nice start to another boring week of school (although I will be spending three days on school trips next week so I'll probably blog about that).

I'm looking forward to the game, because it looks so cute! I really like Kirby's Epic Yarn, and I suppose this is almost like a sequel to that game, except it's styled more like a Yoshi's Island game. I also might check out the Yoshi's Woolly World amiibo. I know I've made my point clear about how I'm not very fond of amiibo but this one can help a lot in game and doubles as a extremely cute plushie. It's made of out of wool, so it looks cooler than the normal plastic amiibos.

Look out for a post around Monday or Tuesday where I should be posting my thoughts and feelings about the game. They'll probably be positive. :)

An Update About Updates (#34)

So as you've noticed, I've been uploading posts really late lately mostly because I keep forgetting to update until around this time at night. Heck, I even completely forgot to update the other day. So, instead of posting at least once a day like I said I would, I'm going to say that I'll be updating at least once every three days. There are two things I'd like to clarify about this.

One, this is not simply because of my terrible memory. This is mostly because sometimes it takes me a long time to think of what to post. Today is one of those days; I've been trying to think of something to write about for hours now and I just haven't come up with anything. There isn't really much in my life to talk about today, and there hasn't really been any news relevant to the stuff I post about either.

Two, don't think that this means I'll only be posting once every three days, that's just a minimum. I'll still be trying my best to post once or even twice a day. It's just that on days like this when there isn't much to say I won't really be saying anything.

Thanks for hopefully understanding. I'll see you guys later!

Spider-Man's Actor Confirmed! (#33)

First of all, following up on my post about my terrible memory that I made yesterday... I almost forgot to post again today, and I only remembered just now! For goodness sake, this is actually getting ridiculous...

Anyway, I'm happy to say that it's finally been revealed to us who will be playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man film! The actor is none other than Tom Holland, from the UK. Here's good luck to his Spidey career!

Apologies! I Have A Terrible Memory... (#32)

Hey guys... sorry for not posting any news updates yesterday. It's not that I couldn't be bothered to post, I just completely forgot because I have an absolutely terrible short term memory, and after putting it off yesterday afternoon it completely slipped out of my mind last night. Oops... heh.

Anyway, while we're on the topic of my practically nonexistant memory, why not laugh at all the misfortune it has caused me? It's been really bad recently. One of the main problems I have with forgetting things is my PE kit. For those who don't live in the UK, PE is basically our version of Gym class. And oh dear goodness how I hate PE, but that's not the point right now, In the past few weeks, I've left my PE kit several different places because I just can't remember to take it from place to place. I've forgotten it in the school library, in the school canteen, and in my form room, meaning I had to go back and get it each time. I've almost forgotten it at home and would have if my mum hadn't reminded me to take it... and, get this! I left it on the school bus the other week, meaning I couldn't do PE that day (at least I got it back later).

This part is really bad. I left my key in the front door of my house recently. TWICE. My mum found it there. No, you didn't read that wrong. I LEFT THE KEYS TO MY HOUSE AND EVERYTHING I OWN HANGING UNPROTECTED WHERE EVERYBODY COULD SEE IT.

TWICE.

...

Overall, as you can tell, I am pretty hopeless with remembering things, and, let's be honest, it's probably going to be the reason for some kind of fatal disaster knowing my equally awful luck. But oh well, I guess it makes my life pretty funny... anyway, I'll try not to forget to update my blog again. Bye guys.

Mario and Luigi Game List (#31)

And now for the second of the two Mario RPG game series lists that I promised a few days ago (the first of the two being the Paper Mario Game List, which is Post #29). The Mario and Luigi series will probably always be one of my game series, along with the Paper Mario games (apart from Sticker Star... many fans agree that that one kinda sucked). I remember that the first one in the series I got was Bowser's Inside Story, the third game, for one of my birthdays I think. I then got the second game after a while, which I had played once or twice before on my friends/relatives' DS, and the first and fourth games soon after. It's pretty different and easier than most RPG series, but is really fun and has pretty good stories. The list is below.

List of Mario and Luigi Games

1) Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA, Wii U Virtual Console)

2) Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time (DS)

3) Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS)

4) Mario and Luigi: Dream Team/Dream team Bros. (3DS)

Oh, and let's not forget Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, releasing next year.

Trying Out League of Legends (#30)

So, after several months, I finally decided to try out League of Legends, a game that many of my friends have been talking about for several months now. I played it for the first time last night with two of my best friends, and even though I'm very bad at it right now (this is one of those games that can take weeks, even months to become good at) it's pretty fun. I don't really play it by myself but since last night I've played it a couple times with them today and I enjoyed it a lot (mostly because we were talking over Skype while playing which made it really awesome) and it really is one of those games that's really good to play online and can bring people together, but requires lots (and I mean LOTS) of skill to be the best. It's very different than many of the games I usually play too being a massively popular online strategy/fighting game. I just need to get good at it!

Paper Mario Game List (#29)

This doesn't really require much of an introduction, as I already talked about this in a previous post. But this is a list of all four games in the Paper Mario series, soon to be five when Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam comes out (assuming you count that as a Paper Mario game). So, without further ado... check out the list!

List of Paper Mario Games

1) Paper Mario (Nintendo 64)

2) Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (Gamecube)

3) Super Paper Mario (Wii)

4) Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)

The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes Announced (#28)

Another interesting game that was announced in Nintendo's E3 is The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes. This game will be released on Nintendo 3DS, The game is very similar to previous Zelda games such as Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, however this time instead of there being four different coloured Links there are three: red, green and blue. This doesn't detract from the fun of the game at all, however, as this time players will be able to play the game with their friends online. There is also a more co-operative vibe in the game, which means that people will often have to work together to defeat bosses and complete dungeons, whereas in Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures there is a more competitive overtone.

Personally, I don't really enjoy Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, but one or two of my friends may be getting this so I may also get it, meaning I'll be able to play with my friends. I think it'd be awesome to explore the world of Zelda and fight enemies with my friends.

Catch the game's trailer here.

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam Announced (#27)

Hey there!

Yesterday was Nintendo's E3 presentation. Many people were unfortunately disappointed by Nintendo's Digital Event yesterday, as there weren't many very exciting games talked about or announced. However, I'll be talking about some of the E3 announcements that were made, especially those that I am most excited for. I won't be making one whole post about the presentation, but will instead be making several different posts about it, starting with one of my personal favourite games they announced.

This game is Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, and, as you may be able to tell from the title, is a crossover between Mario's two popular RPG series, Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi. In the game, the palyer can control Mario and Luigi just like in the other games in the series. Except this time, you also get to control Paper Mario. The battles will also feature special moves that can be performed by the three, and looks awesome. Not much is known about the story yet, except that Luigi finds a mysterious book one day and accidentally releases the whole Paper Mario cast into the Mario and Luigi world. C'mon, weegee... well, at least you were able to spark a great crossover with your antics.

I am looking forward to this game a whole lot, considering it's a combination of two of my favourite video game series. Also, I almost forgot to update this today. Oops! Luckily I remembered before it was too late. You can catch the trailer for Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam here. The game should be arriving in stores in 2016.

Oh, and, may I add, this has gotten me into the mood for another one of my lists. Check back here in the next couple of days for a Mario and Luigi game list and a Paper Mario game list!

Earthbound: Beginnings (#26)

If you're a fan of the Mother series, or Earthbound as it's called outside of Japan, this news will probably get you pretty excited. For those who don't know, the Mother series is a trilogy of three video games, each of which are RPGs. However, the series is unique to other RPGs, which is what makes it so great. Instead of fighting with a sword and shield like your average RPG protagonist, you fight with weapons such as baseball bats and even yo-yos, as well as with a psychic power called PSI (or PK as it's know in the Super Smash Bros series). The trilogy is quite popular in Japan, the USA and the UK, despite the fact that the only game in the series that was released outside of Japan is Mother 2, named Earthbound in the US/UK. Fans can play the first and third games on an emulator (there are fan translations), but this isn't the most legitimate way to play.

That is, until now! I'm happy to announce that Mother 1 has been released for the first time ever outside of Japan. To match up with Earthbound, the game has been named Earthbound: Beginnings, and can be purchased on the Wii U eShop for around $6.99. Earthbound: Beginnings/Mother 1 follows the adventures of Ninten, Teddy, Ana, and Lloyd. Now that Nintendo have released Mother 1 outside of Japan for the first time, could it be possible that a Mother 3 remake is heading to our shores soon? Mother 3 has been asked to be localised by a large number of fans, and is arguably as popular if not more popular than Earthbound/Mother 2.

If you're a hardcore RPG fan I recommend Earthbound: Beginnings to you. If you don't enjoy hard and old games though, you probably won't enjoy it as much as the other two games in the series.

Super Smash Bros. - New Content Approaching 6.14.15 (#25)

Hey there!

Yesterday a new Nintendo Direct was released containing details about upcoming content for Super Smash Bros For 3DS and Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

The most important new additions are the three new fighter characters: Lucas, Ryu and Roy. Lucas is a character from the Mother series, specifically Mother 3 (only released in Japan unfortunately, however, there is a fan translation that can be found online), and he appeared in the third game in the Super Smash Bros series, Super Smash Bros Brawl. Ryu is a completely new fighter in the Smash series, but isn't inexperienced when it comes to fighting, as he is the star of his own extremely popular fighting series, Street Fighter. The third and final new character, Roy, is from the Fire Emblem series, and has appeared in the second Smash game, Super Smash Bros Melee. Many fansare excited to see these popular new and old characters. Amiibo of all three characters, as well as various othet Super Smash Bros characters, have been confirmed. Nintendo have said they aim to create Amiibo of all Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS characters.

There have also been several new stages announced. These include a Miiverse stage which will be free, Kirby's Dream Land from the first Super Smash Bros (two more from the original game are apparently in development) and Suzaku Castle from Street Fighter. There are also going to be several new costumes from series such as Virtua Fighter, Animal Crossing, Mega Man and Splatoon.

Prices for all content can be found on the Nintendo eShop. You can watch the Super Smash Bros Direct here.

Playing Some NSMBU + NSMB List (#24)

I haven't really been able to find much to write about today, but I did promise that I would be updating this blog at least once a day and that's a promise I intend to keep. So... how are you guys? Right now I'm playing some New Super Mario Bros U for the Wii U.

NSMBU is the first Wii U game I got (well technically I got it on launch date along with Nintendo Land) and although it is really similar to the previous three games in the New Super Mario Bros series, it's probably my favourite one in the series, mostly due to its nice HD graphics and the way that all the worlds in the game are connected, which looks really cool in my opinion.

Hey.., since I love making lists so much (as you can probably tell from my Marvel Cinematic Universe, Infinity Stone, Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney lists) why not make a list of the New Super Mario Bros games? Fun fact: although the series is just a modern version of the old 2D side-scrolling Mario games for NES and SNES, this series will always have a special place in my heart, mostly because it's so, fun to play when you're sad or bored, and New Super Mario Bros was the first video game I ever played.

New Super Mario Bros Game List

1) New Super Mario Bros (DS)

2) New Super Mario Bros Wii (Wii)

3) New Super Mario Bros 2 (3DS)

4) New Super Mario Bros U (Wii U)

Spider-Man Finalists: Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe (#23)

Yesterday I updated my blog to tell you that Asa Butterfield was no longer in the running to play Spider-Man/Peter Parker in his upcoming MCU film. And now, according to several sources, the only two actors remaining out of those who are being chosen to play Spidey are Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe. I think they both look like they are old enough and similar enough to Peter to play the role so look forward to finding out Marvel/Sony's final decision.

Asa Butterfield Is Out As Spider-Man (#22)

It has been confirmed that Asa Butterfield is no longer being considered to play Spider-Man. Butterfield is one of several teenagers who are being considered to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming 2017 untitled Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movie. However, it turns out that he is no longer in the running to play the web-swinging wall-crawler. Personally I think he looks of a much more suitable age to star in the role than some of the other possible choices, but time will tell who ends up as Spidey.

Chiwetel Ejiofor Cast As Baron Mordo (#21)

It has been revealed that Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) has been cast as Baron Mordo in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie. In the Marvel comic books, Baron Zemo also is a powerful sorcerer like Doctor Strange, but instead uses his powers for evil. It is possible that he will be an important antagonist in the movie, but perhaps not the main villain, which may end up being another person such as Dormammu.

Doctor Strange is set to be released on November 4, 2016.

R.I.P. Christopher Lee (#20)

In an upsetting turn of events, it turns out that Christopher Lee, the actor who is well known for his roles as Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus in Star Wars Episode II and III, as well as Saruman the White in the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings film trilogies, sadly passed away on Sunday 7th June 2015 at 8:30am. He was 93 at the time of his death and many fans have been wishing him farewell on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. His great roles as characters such as Count Dooku, Saruman and Dracula will be remembered and here's to wishing that he's in a better place.

Thank you, Christopher Lee.

C-3PO's Red Arm? (#19)

Two curious Star Wars merchandise products have popped up recently, and both of them could possibly be giving us new information about Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which is releasing this Winter.

Anybody who's watched Star Wars knows who C-3PO is. The lovable, gold coloured protocol droid that you can always find wandering around with R2-D2 has been in all six Star Wars films so far, along with his smaller blue and grey buddy. A picture has been seen, taken of some kind of Mexican tin with the Star Wars logo, that has a picture of several Star Wars, characters, one of them being C-3PO, but with a red left arm.

Normally, many people including myself would disregard this, considering that bootleg merchandise of popular franchises are often sold in foreign countries. However, another photo (I can't post it here but a quick Google should help you find it) has surfaced of a UK Star Wars table and chair kit, also featuring C-3PO with a red arm. Hmm...

Perhaps C-3PO will have to get a replacement arm in the upcoming Star Wars sequel. It's not the first time that Threepio has had problems with his body, after all. What do you think?

Daredevil Season 2 Update: Punisher (#18)

For many people such as myself, Season 2 of Daredevil can't come soon enough. The first season was amazing and I can't wait to see more new characters, and especially new villains for Matt Murdock to face off against. So it comes as a pleasure to announce that the Punisher, a comic book anti-hero who tends to take the law into his own hands like Daredevil, will be appearing in Season 2, and will be played by none other than Jon Bernthal. I haven't heard of Bernthal before but I think he looks like he would be a great suit for Frank Castle, A.K.A. The Punisher. The Punisher will often to resort to any means necessary when fighting criminals, no matter how lethal, including murder.

We also know that Rosario Dawson will be returning to play Claire Temple in one or more episodes in Season 2, which means we will be seeing more of Matt's personal nurse. Perhaps she'll come to be known as Night Nurse, like in the Marvel comics?

This news has gotten me even more pumped for Season 2, and I would love to see other new characters such as Elektra and Bullseye, and maybe even a character from one of the main Marvel Cinematic Universe Films?

Lego Marvel's Avengers Trailer! (#17)

After several months of waiting, a trailer for the upcoming Lego Marvel's Avengers has finally been uploaded! The trailer gives us a much larger idea of what to expect in the game, include well-known scenes from The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron in brick form, complete with that classic Lego humour (the Hulk taking selfies is awesome, yet I feel like if the Avengers were real they really would take selfies together). And may I say, that Chitauri Leviathan looks fantastic.

I'm very excited for this now, I'm definitely going to get it complete the whole thing. It will feature the first two Avengers in Lego form and more. You can catch the first proper look at the game, coming Winter this year, right here.

A.K.A. Jessica Jones Title Change + Synopsis (#16)

The upcoming Netflix show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, has had a slight name change. It is now going to be simply called Jessica Jones. Personally, I prefer this change, as I think the name A.K.A. Jessica Jones sounds as if there's something that's supposed to be something before the title. It's not an enormous change but it's still great to be hearing news about the second Netflix show produced by Marvel Studios, considering how fantastic Daredevil Season 1 was. This change can be seen on the Netflix placeholder for the show, which should be arriving later this year.

The synopsis for the upcoming show reads:

Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy + Layton List (#15)

I got the sixth and final (at least for now) Professor Layton game! I finally have completed my Professor Layton collection, and I'll be playing through the game in the next week or two. I was a little worried at first since I ordered it on Amazon and its estimated delivery date was 05/06/2015 (every other time I've ordered something on Amazon it comes on or before the estimated delivery date) but luckily the game arrived today.

After I complete this game I will have played through the whole Professor Layton series, and after I've completed the second, third, fourth and fifth Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney games I'll be getting Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I'm so excited for that game because it looks like an awesome crossover between two already amazing video game series!

I think to celebrate, I'm going to make a list of the main six Professor Layton games below, like with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Check it out below! The list will be in the orders of which the game came out, though it should be noted that the last three are prequels, which means they are set before the first three (although I recommend playing them in the order they came out as the creators probably intended). Also, the pictures I will be using for each game are of the UK box art of each game, because those are the ones I have (I live in the UK) and I prefer them personally. Oh, and for the same reason, I will be using the UK names of each games, although the US versions are very similar.

Professor Layton Games List

1) Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS)

2) Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (DS)

3) Professor Layton and the Lost Future (DS)

4) Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call (DS)

5) Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (3DS)

6) Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (3DS)

And then of course there's the crossover with Phoenix Wright, which can be seen above.
