Returning to Skyworld (#164)

Well, this is a late time of day for a post. Or an early time, technically :P

After starting play games more again, I felt in the mood to replay a 3DS game I have called Kid Icarus: Uprising. It's a really great game, especially gameplay and storywise, and it came out in 2012. I think I got it around the beginning of 2014, after Chuggaaconroy did a playthrough of it on YouTube, and I was pretty lucky to get it; it's a fairly rare game (like Xenoblade Chronicles but a little less elusive) and I'm pretty sure I got the last copy in the store where I got it. I would highly recommend it if you like games with mythology, interesting plot (it has a lot of voice acting for a 3DS game) and fun third person shooters. Half of the levels involve you moving around on the ground like a normal shooter but I think the best parts are in the first section of each chapter, where you fly around through the air for a few minutes through loads of cool environments. It looks good in 3D. I would probably say that Kid Icarus: Uprising is one of my favourite three 3DS games. In fact, around the time I got KI:U, I did a review of it on my old blog, Hedgehog Reviews. I'm quite proud of it and you can find it here.

When I made a post talking about all the things that had happened to me after I had temporarily ended the blog, I forgot to mention one: I got LEGO Marvel's Avengers for Wii U when it came out here (UK) about January 29th, and completed it one hundred percent after about four to five days.

I guess I should mention, if the name of the post confuses you, one of the main locations that KI:U is set in is called Skyworld.

Sonic Solved My Gaming Problem? (#163)

In the past few months, I haven't been gaming as much as I used to. It's been a bit depressing to be honest, since gaming is actually one of my favourite things to do in life, along with watching movies and TV shows and using the internet. However, I just haven't felt the desire to pick up one of my favourite games and start button-mashing. I don't know why; it's not really that I don't want to. I've tried picking out a game and starting to play it, but whenever I do I just don't get very far and I stop. It's sad because I haven't been enjoying something as much that usually makes me so happy. Luckily though, recently, I started replaying Sonic Classic Collection for the DS. It has four retro Sonic games: Sonic the Hedgehog 1, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic and Knuckles, all originally for the Sega Genesis. Sonic and Knuckles is like a part 2 of Sonic 3, and in SCC, you can play as Sonic 2 and Knuckles (you can play through Sonic 2 as Knuckles) and Sonic 3 and Knuckles (not only can you play through Sonic 3 as Knuckles, but since S&K is kind of a second part to Sonic 3, in S3&K, the levels are all combined so you can play through all the levels from both games in one playthrough. S3&K is my favourite one since it's so long and the levels are so good).

The back of the game box for Sonic Classic Collection.
Now, I also have a game for PC called Sonic Mega Collection, which has the same four games plus lots more old Sonic games (I think one of them might be Sonic CD but I can't say for sure). However, when I put the disc into my laptop, the game wasn't working, so for now I just decided to use an emulator to play on my laptop. But, I ordered Sonic Mega Collection for Gamecube on the CeX website (great store btw if I haven't mentioned it before) and it should arrive in a few days. Then I'll be able to play my favourite retro games on my TV using a Gamecube controller (my favourite controller of all time, possibly. It's just fun to use).

The funny thing is, when I first got Sonic Classic Collection about 5+ years ago, I didn't really enjoy it at all. I think I wanted to get a different game instead (like Sonic Rush or something) and I didn't like these retro Sonic games, mainly because they were old and I found them boring I guess. But now, I love them. The levels are so fun to play, and the music is amazing compared to other 16-bit game tunes. In fact, there are rumours that Michael Jackson himself, who was actually a big Sonic fan, composed the music for Sonic 3. Some videos on YouTube have pointed out that if you play some of the level themes from Sonic 3 at the same time as some of MJ's own songs, they go together in a suspiciously perfect way. Just listen here, here, here, here and here (there are loads more on that guy's channel). I've downloaded a lot of them on my phone. Also, this guy on YouTube has made loads of classic/modern remixes (like in Sonic Generations) of the music from the games I mentioned above, plus more recent games like Sonic Rush, Sonic Unleased (the second Wii game I ever played, after New Super Mario Bros. Wii) and Sonic Adventure 2. Also, speaking of Sonic Rush, playing these older games has put me in the mood to play that and Sonic Rush Adventure again, since those were some of the first games I ever played so they are extremely nostalgic for me, and they're like modern sequels to Sonic 1, 2 and 3. Speaking of modern sequels, I got Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Part 1 on Steam three days ago. It's... okay, but the physics are nowhere near as good as the classic games. And also, I want to get Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for Gamecube for my birthday, I've been wanting to play them for years but I never get around to it, but they're cheap at CeX.

Oh, and last thing, I actually drew some pictures of Sonic and other Sonic characters when I was younger that I still have in my bedroom. I'll post them on here sometime soon.

So I guess Sonic made me want to play games again. Just like when I was younger. Thanks, hedgehog.

If you ever doubt that I am an enormous Sonic nerd, just
know that I can name all of these characters.

P.S: If you're wondering why no reaction post for Batman V Superman, I'll release one in the next week or so. It's just they take a lot of effort to write.

Just A Few Hours Until BvS (#162)

I watched Man of Steel yesterday, and it was better than I remembered, not that I thought it was bad in the first place. The fighting was one of the coolest parts, and it actually reminded me a little of the battles in Super Mario Bros Z (see posts #14 and #151). Now, in just a matter of hours, I'll be seeing the second film in the DCEU, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which starts at 13:40 this afternoon. I also had forgotten that Lois Lane was in Man of Steel. I know that Wonder Woman will be in Dawn of Justice. I also know Doomsday will be the main villain, with Lex Luthor pulling some strings from behind the scenes. I haven't actually seen a Batman film before, since I've only properly started to get into DC recently. This isn't a problem though, since the Batman in BvS is new to cinema, being played by Ben Affleck instead of Christian Bale. Affleck played Daredevil in the 2003 film, and is now playing Batman, kind of similar to how Ryan Reynolds' originally played a DC character, Green Lantern, and now plays a Marvel character, Deadpool.  For my birthday next month though, I hope to get the Dark Knight trilogy for Blu-Ray so I can watch those three films for the first time.

I'll be starting to head to the cinema at 12:00, since it'll take about half and hour to 45 minutes to get there, and I'm gonna get some food before the film. See you guys later.

Daredevil Season 2: Fantastic! (#161)

So like I said, I started watching Daredevil Season 2 when it came out on Friday the 18th, and I finished it on Sunday the 20th! It was so awesome and I really, deeply hope that they come out with a third season. I'll talk a little below about some of the main plot details from the season, so spoiler warning here.

So one of the little things I liked was the show demonstrating that is it part of a shared universe; not very many references were made to the main MCU films which is okay because I kind of like how the Marvel Netflix shows are mostly seperate to the films (kind of like Arrow and the Flash, even though they're in a completely different universe to the DCEU (DC Expanded Universe) or DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe) as I call it. But yes, not many references to the films were made, just like season 1 of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but that's okay. However, I liked how the season made several references to Jessica Jones, starting to connect the Netflix shows more. There was small talk of JJ around episode 5 or 6, a very tiny mention of her name, but the real connection was in episode 13 where Foggy went to work with/for Jeri Hogarth, one of JJ's main characters.

Speaking of which though, the way season 2 ended was very bittersweet, and it made me feel sad. Not just because of Elektra's death (I gotta admit she annoyed me in her first couple of appearances) but the fact that Matt, Karen and Foggy split up and Nelson & Murdock is no more. That was one of my favourite parts of the show, seeing the main 'power trio' working together and having fun (like in season 1 episode 2 where Karen and Foggy go out in the city for the whole night and Foggy just jokes around) and if there is a season 3 (pleeeeeaaasseeee) it will be different to see their more separate lives, although it would still be interesting. I liked Karen's blossoming friendship with Elliot, the guy working at the newspaper office (I forgot the newspaper's name) so it's not like another season wouldn't work. Plus, they could introduce Officer Simpson from JJ, since he's kind of an important Daredevil villain in the Daredevil: Born Again comic book arc, which I read recently. They set that up in JJ, with him taking those dangerous red and blue pills, just like in the comic books.

Also, as planned, I started watching Arrow Season 2 on Monday. It's good so far and, while typing this the day before it is uploaded, I just watched the episode where Barry Allen is introduced, who I know is the Flash. I don't think he has his powers yet though. And also, two days until Batman V Superman. The Ginger is going to watch it tonight, along with a screening of Man of Steel, both in IMAX. It sounds great but it starts at 21:15 and ends at like 2 or 3am, so I feel like he's gonna fall asleep.

Note: It's the DC Extended Universe, not the DC Expanded Universe.

R.I.P. Akira Tago (#160)

Some sad news today. Akira Tago, the "puzzle master" behind the Professor Layton series has passed away, aged 90. He passed from interstitial pneumonia on March 6th, and was behind many of the puzzles in the six Layton games. Although I hadn't heard of him much before this news, it is still upsetting that one of the men who had a large role in developing the fantastic series has died. My condolences go to his family during this time, and he will be missed.

Superhero Schedule (#159)

Like I was saying in my last post, I started watching Arrow recently, and will be starting on its sister show, the Flash soon. That means I also plan to watch Legends of Tomorrow in the future, and I'll be checking out Supergirl as well (there's a crossover between Supergirl and the Flash going on right around this time). I've been thinking about how I've got loads of things to watch in the next couple weeks, mainly TV shows and movies based on superheroes, so I thought I could go over it here.

So, as I said, on March 11th I started watching Arrow season 1, which I finished on the 17th. The next day, on March 18th, all thirteen hour-long Daredevil season 2 episodes were released, and right now I'm watching episode 5 of that. I plan to finish season 2 of that tomorrow night, which means on Monday I'll be starting season 2 of Arrow. I don't know how long that will take me to finish that, but I finish school for two weeks on Thursday (thank god) so I might be able to finish by Friday or Saturday. On Friday (the 25th), I'll be watching Man of Steel again on Blu -Ray in preparation for Batman V Superman, which I'm watching in IMAX the next day (26th)! Then if I haven't finished Season 2 of Arrow, I'll finish that on around Sunday or Monday, and start season 3 of Arrow plus season 1 of the Flash (I found a really handy guide to the order for watching the 'Arrowverse' shows here). There's also a short cartoon I'm supposed to watch around here that's set in the Arrowverse called Vixen. Now after those, the next things to watch in the Arrowverse is Arrow season 4, the Flash season 2, Legends of Tomorrow season 1 and Supergirl season 1 (I know it's not really canon but there's the crossover and I count it as part of the same universe), but those four don't come out on Blu-Ray until August-September. I could watch them online, but I would rather watch them the official way, plus it's much better to watch all episodes at once than wait for them to come out each week. But according to the website on the link above, there's a show called Constantine that you can watch in between since apparently a character from there cameos in Arrow season 4, so I might just watch that for now. Anyway, for the remaining weeks of April, I can get some new manga, and then there's Captain America: Civil War out at the end of that month. Plus, Super Mario Bros Z episode 2 might be released around that time, and it's my birthday on April 25th. Also in September, there's Luke Cage, plus around then I'll get Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 and Agent Carter Season 2. And those are my main plans for at least the next couple weeks.

Now, since I'm typing most of this the night before DD Season 2 is released, let me leave this here, because I am frickin' excited as heck for tomorrow.

Arrow: Season 1 Completed (#158)

After planning to watch it for a while and wanting to get more into DC, I finally started watching the Arrow TV show. I got seasons 1-3 in a Blu-Ray pack last Friday and have been watching for a week now. I finished season 1 last night, and I have to say, it was great! I'm so glad I started watching this show. I'm going to start watching season 2 next week, but first I'm going to watch Daredevil season 2 this weekend. I also will watch season 3 in a few weeks along with the Flash season 1, which I got today! I really loved the first season, and it had me hooked. It was cool to find out about different characters in the DC universe (I know Arrow and the Flash aren't set in the same continuity as the DC Cinematic Universe). Oliver Queen was a great protagonist. I also really liked John Diggle (hilarious name), Thea Queen, Laurel Lance, her dad, Quentin, and Slade Wilson (which is what Deadpool's name, Wade Wilson, is a reference to). I also really liked Walter Steele, and feel bad for him because he was kidnapped and got a load of crappy things happen to him, even though he's possibly the nicest character in the series. I'll upload a post soon about my plans to watch more Arrow and the Flash in the next couple of weeks, along with some other things about movies and stuff, you'll see. Anyway, like I said, season 2 of Daredevil was released today, so I gotta go watch the first episode!

I've also noticed greatly that I really need to proof-read my posts more before I upload them. I keep noticing loads of spelling/grammar mistakes in them after they're up and I have to keep updating them.

Han Solo Actor Shortlist (#157)

Hi, the candidates for the role of Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off film featuring the scruffy-looking nerf herder himself as the main character have been narrowed down to three. The remaining choices include Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor and Taron Egerton. According to Hollywood Reporter, the shortlist may contain other actors, but we know for sure that it includes at least these three. Some rumoured names of those who auditioned are Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Emory Cohen. The Han Solo spin-off should release in 2018 and will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord.

Speaking of which, Han Solo's original actor, Harrison Ford, has been confirmed to star in Indiana Jones 5, which should be coming out in 2019. I haven't watched the Indiana Jones films but I have interest in watching them in the future, probably before the fifth one comes out. I heard the fourth one sucks though.

From left to right: Alden Ehrenreich, Jack Reynor, Taron Egerton.

List of X-Men Cinematic Universe Films (#156)

Yeah, remember these things? Like I said, I rewatched the X-Men film series recently, so why not make a list about it? I haven't done these for a while, I kind of forgot about them. Anyway, here we go with a list of the X-Men Cinematic Universe films:

1) X-Men (2000)

2) X2: X-Men United (2003)

3) X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

4) X-Men Origins; Wolverine (2009)

5) X-Men: First Class (2011)

6) The Wolverine (2013)

This is one of my favourites. It's set in
Japan and I love the bullet train scene.

7) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

8) Deadpool (2016)

9) X-Men: Apocalypse (releasing in May this year)

That's it for the films out so far (and X-Men: Apocalypse, which I'm pretty excited for). As I've said, I think my favourites as of now are The Wolverine, Days of Future Past and Deadpool, the three most recent. There are also plans for a third Wolverine film to release next year plus a sequel to Deadpool and possibly a Gambit film (I'm sure about that one thought, there's been barely any mention of t and I heard that it was cancelled so don't get your hopes up). I believe plans for an X-Force movie and a New Mutants movie may be in the works.

By the way, I fixed a bit of a grammar mistake in the blog description. Before, it said 'Update times vary but are usually at least one every two weeks', but now it says 'Update times vary, but posts are usually uploaded at least once every two weeks'. It just sounds better and makes more sense.

Civil War: Tickets Booked! (#155)

After that awesome Captain America 3 trailer a couple days ago, I was starting to get really hyped for the movie, and even though it's kinda early, I started checking if tickets were available yet. They weren't available when I looked on Thursday, but after checking again on Saturday, I saw that they were already taking bookings! I started to kinda panic in excitement and after five minutes had already booked for me, my friend and mum (she loves Marvel movies too). And the seats we bought were right at the back in the middle of the row, which I think is the best place to sit. So it's perfect! Now tickets are booked for Batman V Superman and Civil War!

Since everybody including me is going crazy about Spidey in CW, let me just leave this remix of the 1960s Spider-Man cartoon. It's dubstep, which I don't listen to that often. but it's really good. I also really like the picture in the video, I think that giant robotic-looking thing is supposed to be a Spider-Slayer.

Luke Cage Release Date Confirmed! (#154)

As you probably know, I am a massive fan of the Marvel Netflix TV shows, and after the release of a season each for Daredevil and Jessica Jones last year, I am extremely excited for the second season of Daredevil. releasing next Friday. If you are also a big lover of these shows, then you'll be glad to know that the Luke Cage Netflix show will be releasing on September 30th later this year! I believe the show is set before Luke's appearance in Jessica Jones, when Luke was in prison. This is great news; the release of the third show is only half a year away, and we have DD Season 2 and Civil War to give us our MCU fix until then. Don't forget about Jessica Jones Season 2, which will release in the future, and I would expect Iron Fist somewhere around the first half of 2017.

Like in JJ, Luke will be portrayed by Mike Colter.

Civil War: Final Trailer! (#153)

So the final main trailer for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War has arrived, and it's fantastic! We get to see more of the heroes on both sides, including Cap, Iron Man, Black Widow, Bucky, Scarlet Witch and Vision. There's a line in the trailer that really cuts deep; Tony says "I was wrong about you. The whole world was wrong about you." This probably means he believes Cap is no longer as good as everybody thinks he is. Apparently, Civil War will cause a lot of tears, so I'll definitely be crying a bit. You can find the trailer here.

And make sure to watch it to the very end... I'm going to talk about the part at the end right below, so don't scroll to the bottom of this post until you've watched the trailer...

HE'S HERE! HE'S FINALLY HERE! I'm so happy. I'm so excited! Spider-Man has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe! It's incredible. Back when the first Avengers film came out, I don't think any of us dreamed that we've ever see Spider-Man fighting alongside Captain America and Iron Man on the big screen (at least not in an actual really good film). But it's real! There's no denying it; it's real. I am now extremely hyped for the start of Phase 3. And speaking of the MCU, Daredevil Season 2 comes out in exactly a week!

I'm Back, Let's Catch Up: The Future (#152)

Okay, so after that brief (well, actually, not brief at all) recap of all the stuff that's been going on since my 'departure' nearly four months ago, here's a much shorter post about the way in which Awesome Fantasy News will be different this time around.

Now, this is the main thing: as you may know, one of the reasons I quit this back in November was because I started to not have much time for this as a result of excessive school homework and revision (ugh, that hasn't changed much) and the number of posts I was making each month kept steadily decreasing. I felt bad for not making enough updates and I just stopped because I couldn't be bothered dealing with it, which sounded stupid because literally nobody was pressuring me about it. I guess I just feel naturally guilty about stuff like that; I'm not going to go over it loads here because I talked it about it a ton in post #150. I guess I'm kind of stalling here, so the point is, updates will be a lot less frequent this time around. Instead of doing at least one post every three days, I'm only really going to be updating when I feel like what I have to say is actually or important or I'm actually to mood to say something instead of just doing it for the sake of it. It won't really be different from before, trust me, I'll probably just be making new posts less often. That said, I'm trying not to promise anything here because how stuff goes wrong for me, but I will be trying to do at least one post every two weeks. I know that sounds like practically nothing; only two posts a month?! But again, emphasis on the 'at least'. I''ll probably be doing more, especially at times like now when I have a lot of ideas in my head since I just restarted and there's lots to do/say. It's just that at other times, when I really can't get in the mood for it, I won't have to update. Plus, like I said last time, I have write a lot of homework and revision to do as well. Oh crap, that reminds me, I have history homework. Damn it, Ho Chi Minh! (Google it)

That was the only thing I really needed to say. But something else I could talk about, something that made me pretty happy, was that the other day, I checked to see if my blog had gotten an increase in views even without me posting for ages. And I saw this.

Over 6000 pageviews.

Wow... Thank you guys so much, thanks to everybody who's ever clicked on this blog, even if it was only once or twice. Every time you read one of my posts, it means more than you might think. Also, if you're wondering why it says the blog has 154 posts, it's because I have four posts that are still drafts. Including this one and post #151.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope anybody that likes this lil' blog will be glad it's back, even if it won't be updated as much. I also changed the blog description a little bit:

I'll leave you with this song that I'm listening to right now. It's in The Amazing Spider-Man (which is not a bad film, by the way).

I'm Back, Let's Catch Up: The Past (#151)

Hi there. I'm back.

I thought I would come back here eventually, especially since I'm really happy about the way this blog was going. I was thinking about it recently and decided that I felt ready to begin writing posts again on Awesome Fantasy News, and well, here we are!

Obviously, a lot has happened since my last post over three months ago, not just in my life, but also in the world of gaming, films and nerd culture in general. At first I was gonna split this post into a couple parts, but multi-part posts are complicated to write and I want to keep this simple without going into extreme and unnecessary detail. I'll just be splitting it into two parts with different subjects. So, down below are lots of different things that have happened with me since my departure, mainly in the film and video game area. I'll try to keep it mostly in chronological order but no promises since more ideas of things to write about will probably keep popping into my head while I'm writing/typing. Okay, here we go.

I Got Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam and Xenoblade Chronicles X

Yep, so I got both of those games on December 4th when they came out as early Christmas presents. To be honest though, they weren't as great as I anticipated. I got kind of bored of Paper Jam about halfway through since it's kind of bland and I haven't played it since about a week after its release. Chronicles X, well, I played for about one or two days after I got it and that was pretty much it (actually, I just remembered that I didn't get it on release day, I got it about 4-5 days after because it was out of stock on release day). I just don't really enjoy it much, especially compared to the original Xenoblade Chronicles. I think it's because X is more of an MMORPG-style game, and I don't really like those. Speaking of Paper Mario, they just announced that new game for Wii U, Paper Mario: Colour Splash. I would be way more excited for it since I love the series but I'm just not, since, like all of the other PM fans I know, I think it just looks like Sticker Star, which, well, kinda sucked. Sorry. Might replay some of the first three PM games though. Those are great.

I Watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens

MAJOR SPOILERS IF YOU AIN'T SEEN IT

What is there to say? It was freakin' amazing, definitely my favourite Star Wars film so far. The plot twists were great, and I honestly would never have guessed that Kylo Ren was Han and Leia's son. Speaking of Han though, his death scene was so touching. I cried many tears. Sorry if I spoiled those two major parts of the movie for you, but at the same time I'm not sorry, because a) you really should have seen it by now and b) the blog description and this post do have a spoiler warning. I watched the film three times actually, once on the 19th of December in IMAX 3D with my mum and friend, and second time on December 30th in IMAX 3D with another friend who I haven't mentioned on here before, he's also a massive Star Wars and Marvel fan. We'll call him The Ginger, since, well, he's ginger, which is where a lot of the humour in our friendship stems from. The third time was also with The Ginger, but in 2D since there's not much point watching in IMAX again.

I Played Undertale

Yes, on Christmas Day, I got that game Undertale that you've probably heard a lot of people talking about. It's kind of like a modern tribute to old but classic RPG games like Earthbound and Mother 3, but at the same time it's something completely original in its own way. If you actually haven't seen this game around on the internet, I'm not going to go through it much, just Google it and watch the trailer. Trust me, it's fantastic. It's definitely a very funny game and one of the most replayable games I've ever owned. There are at least 3 ways to play through the game to see different endings, and the characters are fantastic, especially Papyrus and Sans, two skeleton bros who serve as great comic relief and are pretty damn hilarious. Also, Sans is always making puns, much to the annoyance of his brother. Sounds like me with all of my friends. :)

Unfortunately, I can't write this caption in Comic Sans.

I Watched Episode 1 Of The SMBZ Reboot!

Hey, so remember that (absolutely motherheckin' awesome) Mario and Sonic sprite series I mentioned wayyyy back in post #14? Well, the creator Alvin-Earthworm (real name Mark Haynes) rebooted the series, and episode 1 came out on January 8th 2016 (three days earlier for his Patreon donators I believe). My God, I didn't think it was possible, but it's 10 times better than the original episodes 1 and 2 (originally he wanted eps 1 and 2 to be one single episode in the old series, but couldn't because of limitations. He did this time around though!). On Twitter he said that he's aiming for episode 2 to release on April 22nd, which is the 10 year anniversary of the original first episode. It's also three days before my birthday. Mark said he isn't making any promises about April 22nd, but I really hope it comes out then, I genuinely can't wait. It hurts me to have to wait. You can find the first episode on YouTube here.

Even the thumbnails are more awesome in this new series.

I Watched Deadpool! ...On Like My Third Attempt

Yeah... funny story... (well, it really wasn't funny at the time. More like extremely frustrating and kind of depressing) as you may know, Deadpool is not a normal superhero. In fact, he's not even a superhero, he's an anti-hero. The film's trailers all make it clear that he is not supposed to be family-friendly and heroic like the Avengers or Spider-Man (even though his suit looks a bit like the latter's, and admittedly, the first time I saw a Deadpool comic, I'm pretty sure I thought it was Spider-Man). Yes, Deadpool is not a superhero for kids or even tweens, but is a much more violent, vulgar and teen/adult-oriented person. So naturally, as a result of the film's excessive swearing, blood/gore and, ahem, sexy-time-content, the film is rated R in the USA (which is like 17/18 I believe). However, here in the UK, we were lucky enough to get a 15 rating. Now, I'm 15 next month. Let me tell you a little story about what happened to me up until when I finally watched the film.

The first time I went to watch the film was at the cinema I usually go to, which is one of the only cinemas I know nearby that has IMAX and really good (if expensive) coke and popcorn. Deadpool is only showing in 2D, but there are screenings of it in 2D IMAX, which is what my friend (it was Blog Buddy by the way, see my old posts if you don't know who that is) and I were going to watch. The first time I went was the 13th of February (the day before Valentine's Day) and I went with my friend and his dad. Now, I thought they would let us in considering we're both 15 in the next few months and we were with a responsible adult, but nope, we told them the honest truth that we're still 14. Sounds dumb, but they were probably going to ask for ID if we lied. We weren't allowed in since we're not properly 15 yet So we had to refund the tickets, but since you can't refund food that you've already started eating, we were left to go home with a bag of popcorn and a large coke each. Sad, sad times.

The second time was a few days after, on Wednesday the 17th, we tried again at the same place. This time me and BB went with another friend, who is actually 15 (his birthday is 25th December. Guess on here I can call him Jesus? Joking, joking! I'll just call him... Christmas Guy) and we got him to buy the tickets since he's actually the legal age. But, guess what? They asked for ID. So since we obviously wouldn't be able to use ID, we had to just go home. Again. And the insulting thing is, Christmas Guy couldn't get into the film even though he is actually 15, because he didn't have ID on him.

So anyway, when I got back to school on Monday the 22nd (I had been off school for a week), I was sad to find out that a lot of people in my year had seen it at different cinemas (including those who aren't 15 yet, one of them being one of my friends who actually got in at the cinema I went to and he's 14 (15 this month)). But the thing that destroyed me mentally was that The Ginger, who is 13, had seen the film at a different cinema. Well, that settled it, I was going to keep trying again and again if I had to, until I could see the film, starting with the place where The Ginger went. On the following Friday (the 26th) me and Christmas Guy went to that cinema. And holy crap, it worked. We thought of ideas of what we could do if they asked our age, but nope, no questions asked, they didn't even ask how old we are. We got into the film.

It was great.

And Blog Buddy went to a different cinema the next day and also saw it. So good for him too.

...I have to agree with the poster here.
*blushes profoundly*

I Got Back Into Dragon Ball and Death Note

I'm not sure if I've talked about this before but I've been a big fan of the Death Note and Dragon Ball (Z) animes in the past. I first watched Death Note about two years ago but I got about 25 episodes in when I stopped for some reason (there are only 37 episodes in the series anyway), but I watched the whole series again properly about two months ago. Also, from Summer 2014 to about early 2015 I watched the whole series of Dragon Ball and about 4 out of 9 seasons of Dragon Ball Z. The main reason I stopped was because the website I was using didn't have HD episodes after the first three seasons. However, I think that website has all 9 seasons (291 episodes!) in HD now, so I decided to start watching again just after I finished Death Note, back in January. However, I forgot loads of things that happened, so I started again with Dragon Ball and watched all 153 episodes of that (I know, I'm crazy, but it only took me about a month). I started Dragon Ball Z a couple weeks ago and I'm already on Season 3 but I haven't watched it for about two weeks, since near the end of February when I watched Deadpool. I definitely plan to continue soon though, I'm nearly on episode 100. Oh, and I've also been reading the manga for Dragon Ball and Death Note (see below).

Find the Dragon Balls!
Look out for them all!

Other Miscellaneous Stuff

Some other stuff I did: booked tickets for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in IMAX 3D for 26/03/16. Rewatched Big Hero 6 on 5/3/16 (I don't know if I've mentioned it but I watched it the first time in like January/February 2015. It's a great animated film). Rewatched the X-Men film series in anticipation for X-Men: Apocalypse (my favourites are probably The Wolverine, Days of Future Past and Deadpool). I got some manga in the past two months: Death Note Volumes 3-6, Dragon Ball Volumes 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. All of those for like £40, may I add. Forbidden Planet is a wonderful, wonderful store. I'm probably gonna rewatch Man of Steel the day before I see BvS. Last weekend I rewatched Daredevil Season 1 and I am so freakin' hyped for season 2! I would actually say I am as excited for DD Season 2 as I am for BvS and possibly Civil War. Oh, and also, Jessica Jones Season 2 was announced in about January! There's not really any solid release date so far though.

The next post will be more about the future, like the blog itself and how it'll be a little different this time around. It should be up in two days, since this was a long one.

It's good to be back.

P.S: There are now as many posts on this blog as there are Pokemon in the original two Pokemon games, Red and Blue. I think so anyway, I'm not a big fan of Pokemon. Except from that time when I binge-watched about 500 episodes of the anime, but that's a story for another time, maybe. Speaking of which though, I think it's the 20th anniversary of Pokemon right around now. Yay!

Edit: Within minutes of uploading this, I got a +1. The mysterious +1 person is still at large. From now on I'll call them Plus, I guess.
